Finished animation

Final art for Animation

Includes backgrounds and characters
This dog character like the human scavenger is split into legs body and head, drawn in photoshop.

I built every background with at least 4 layers, sky, clouds, far background, middle ground and the foreground so that they are able to move and give a seance of depth rather than a flat image moving.

Everything was drawn digitally with a tablet by me.

London test

This is something i just wanted to try out before I did the actual animation. I'm feeling confident enough to make a start on the final animation.

Animation with background and sound

Just a quick test.

Final Character Design

I used Photoshop CS5 to gradually build my character.
I made sure that the character looked just perfect.
I copied the legs so that in movement it wouldn't look off.
I also made sure that each layer consisted of one body part for example: feet low leg upper leg ext Then I saved it as a Photoshop file ready to import into After Effects CS5....
This is the final hand drawn concept for my main character.

Better Animation

I watched myself walking on and off for around 10 minutes, I feel I have achieved a lifelike walk.

First proper animation.

Very crudely animated main character, i really need to film myself of someone walking because it somehow feels a bit off.

Another After Effects session.

playing around with parenting, very useful indeed.

First draft with sound.

This is my first draft with the music, made in After effects CS5. It is just to give me an idea of how much time I would need to give to each scene.

My storyboard

The animation starts with the moon, then the moon goes down.
 The sun then comes up.
The sun is the same size as this eye, so the sun will fade and turn into this eye.
The Scavenger then see's something in the distance, and the reflection fades in.
The Scavenger runs for whatever he has seen.
When he gets there the object/person has gone.
He then see's the mysterious object again.
He then proceeds to walk aimlessly.
London
On every beat, the Background will change.
Paris
 Washington
The character will stay in exactly the same spot(walk on the spot), only everything else will move or change
He then see's the object, and it turns out it's a dog, He drops to his knees as the dog runs at him and holds out his arms.
The dog licks the Scavengers face as he smiles.

My finished part of the group animation.

This is part of the animation I did with a group of 3 people, we will combine each of our efforts at a later date.

Quick design a scenario for pissed off pepper. I came up with some other quick characters that I didn't choose.

After effects lesson the first

This is practically a slide show of images, the aim was to teach us the very basics of after effects.

more research

some more of my favourite animations.

story ideas

My first storyboard, the idea is this man is seemingly the last man on earth, but he is walking for some reason.
A later storyboard, that is more directed.
